Our choir was formed in 1997 and we enjoyed celebrating our 21st birthday at our October Concert last year.

We are a not-for-profit community choir, based in Swan View, in the foothills of the Darling Range, Western Australia.  Members meet weekly to sing a wide range of songs and enjoy the warmth, friendliness and sociability that go with belonging to such a group.  We are always keen to welcome new members.

Our choir is fortunate indeed to have experienced and dedicated musician Richard Braham as our musical director.

We receive generous sponsorship from the Mundaring Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank.

About Us

Due to the Covid-19 Virus, our 2020 program is no longer valid.  However I have left it in place so you may see the kind of things we normally do during the year.

Swan Harmony Singers hold weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, from 7-9pm, at the Midland Performing Arts Centre, in the old Tafe building near the Dome.

We meet throughout the year, except for a Christmas break from early December to mid-January.  This year 2020, we start on Wed. Jan 15th.

New members are always welcome.  If you’re interested, drop in on a Wednesday evening to see how we operate – you may do this for a total of three rehearsals, free of charge, before deciding whether you would like to join us.  Should you decide to join you then pay membership fees, and receive your own personal file of all songs in the current repertoire.

The Songs we sing

The choir sings a wide variety of music including jazz, swing, sacred and pop, plus occasional classical pieces, and we usually present concerts two or three times a year.

We sing four-part harmony songs, but don’t let that scare you off!  You don’t need to read music, although that is an advantage; you just need to enjoy singing and be prepared to make a reasonable commitment to attend rehearsals regularly.  We don’t hold auditions.

All Things Bright And Beautiful.

As Time Goes By.

Bye Bye Blackbird.

Cry Me A River.

Do You Hear The People Sing.

Homeward Bound

New York State Of Mind.

Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World.

What The World Needs Now.

You’ll Never Walk Alone.

More songs will be added to the list during the course of the year.

ANZAC  DAY 2020.

The 25th April falls on a Saturday this year, and the choir will take part in the ceremony conducted by the Mundaring RSL, at 3pm. at the Mundaring War Memorial.  We will sing two songs, Homeward Bound, and a second still to be decided

AGM . 2020

This will be held around mid-April, the date to be finalized, starting at 6.30pm immediately before our weekly rehearsal, and all positions on the Committee are contestable.

The choir’s main concert for the year will as usual, be in the Darlington Hall, starting at 3pm, and the ticket price includes the usual splendid and abundant afternoon tea.  The dates and bookings are still to be decided and will be posted shortly.  The end of year concert will probably be in the MPAC towards the end of November or early December.

We have visited aged care facilities for end of year carols, and will probably do that again this year.
