About Us

The Swan Harmony Singers is a community choir. We hold weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings between 7pm  and 9pm at the St Matthews Anglican Church Hall in Guildford.

We meet throughout the year, except for a Christmas break from early December to mid-January and will perform several times towards the end of the year when our Musical Director deems us to be “performance ready”.

We accept new members in the first quarter of each year, if you’re interested, drop in on a Wednesday evening to see how we operate.  If you are interested in joining us after spending some time with us, we can let you know when applications open in the new year.

On approval of your membership application you will be advised by our Treasurer,  of how much and how to pay your  membership fees, and will then receive your own personal file of all songs in the current repertoire.

The Songs we Sing

The choir sings a wide variety of music including jazz, swing, sacred and pop, plus the occasional classical piece.

We sing four-part harmony songs, but don’t let that scare you off!

This year we are singing songs by Adele, Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Queen (a Glee version of course) to mention just a few of the songs we are madly rehearsing!

You don’t need to read music, although that is an advantage; you just need to enjoy singing and be prepared to make a reasonable commitment to attend rehearsals regularly.

We don’t hold auditions and we will make sure you are introduced to a “buddy” who will make sure you are introduced to our choir and that you don’t miss out on a biscuit during the coffee/tea break.
